NOTE:  NEW COURSE POLICIES IN EFFECT ....See Below....

    Commitment

This is a Advanced Placement level mathematics course.  The College Board dictates the content, and to a great degree, the pacing of this course. If the material seems too difficult or the pace too fast, it is your responsibility to resolve any difficulties with the extra help offered to you.  I will never expect you to work harder than I am willing to work for you. This class is a partnership between us.

    Class materials:

You will be given a textbook, and a outline for each chapter.  These materials will be coordinated sothat your obligations and status are understandable and current.  You SHOULD come to class with a writing utensil, notebook, textbook, lab manual and graphing calculator. Note:A TI-89 Calculator will be assigned to you.  A replacement fee will be initiated in the event of loss.

    Grading:

Your grade will consist of homework (20%), quizzes (30%), tests (50%).  Points are assigned on homework (0-4),quizzes (variable), and tests (variable). Some tests may be cumulative! Students will be allowed to make test corrections to ALL missed questions. On a separate piece of paper, rewrite the question, rewrite the answer, tell me what you did wrong, do the problem correctly.  20% of the missed points will be added to their original test grade.  Test corrections are due the next day.  No excuses!   STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CALCULUS AB EXAM GIVEN BY THE COLLEGE BOARD.

    Homework:

Your responsibilities clearly do not end when you leave the classroom.  Homework is the rule, not the exception.  If for some reason youmiss a homework assignment, it can be handed in for partial credit (Maximum score of 3) only if submitted by the next class.  After that, the assignment will receive a 0.

Test Problem Sets:  Each unit, a problem set of questions will be assigned, and collected on the day of the test.  Each student will be required to hand in the assignment.  If the assignment is NOT handed in, they will lose 10 points of their test grade for each day the problem set is late.

     Extra help

I am available for help in Room 202 and/or Room 219 during and after school.  See me for period availability.

    Absences:

Excessive absences will affect your progress in this class.  You are responsible for missed homework assignments, quizzes, and tests.  Expect to makeup any class work you miss during study hall and/or extra-help.

    Extra-help Sessions

Anytime you are not successful on a quiz or test you are obligated to stay one extra-help session for each failure. Extra help during any study hall or after school will also satisfy this requirement.  These extra-help sessions count as part of your grade in that every session you skip diminishes your class grade by 5 points.  In addition, skipping these sessions is the same as skipping a class and necessitates notifying a parent/guardian.

    Progress reports

Individual reports can be checked at any time on the District Infinite Campus Portal.
